BENJAMIN HANNA

Program Placement:

Benjamin Hanna is a rising U2 student at McGill University, pursuing a Joint Honours degree in Economics and International Development. His academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of economics and public policy. In the future, he plans to pursue a Master's degree and ultimately hopes to pursue a career in economic development. At McGill, he is a staff writer for the McGill International Review – an undergraduate international relations publication – where he focuses on issues of global economic policy. An avid saxophone player, Benjamin plays in the McGill Symphonic Band, where he also serves as VP of Finance. Benjamin was a US State Department National Security Language Initiative Scholarship, where he lived in Taiwan as part of a Mandarin language immersion program at National Tsing Hua University. He is of Vietnamese descent, grew up in the Boston area, and is currently based in Montreal. In his free time, he enjoys playing his sax, going on runs, and searching for the next best Vietnamese coffee.

 

DILLON LE

Dillon Le is a sophomore at Boston University, pursuing a degree in Economics and a minor in Asian Studies. Raised in a Vietnamese immigrant family in Arvada, Colorado, Dillon is passionate about enhancing citizenship accessibility, dismantling systemic racism, and addressing economic disparities faced by minority communities. Coming from a state that lacks an Asian American population, Dillon has utilized his unique circumstance to become a community leader. In 2024, he was selected for the Gary Community Ventures Piton Fellowship, where he proposed a federal immigrant financial assistance program to Denver metro area leaders. He has also served as a Development Intern at OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates, and a Campaign Intern for Senator John Hickenlooper. Dillon is a former competitive golfer, competing in the 2023 Optimist International Junior World Golf Championship.

 

Silma Kaffah Nurfadhilah

Silma Kaffah Nurfadhilah is a senior at the University of Oklahoma, majoring in International Studies with minors in European Studies and French. Originally from Indonesia, she has studied in Norway, the Netherlands, and the United States, developing a comparative interest in governance and development in Southeast Asia. At the University of Oklahoma, she has served as Creative Director and Judicial Chair for the International Advisory Committee, where she helped lead multicultural programming and uphold governance standards within the international student community. She is particularly interested in civic engagement, diaspora representation, and inclusive development policy. In the future, Silma hopes to build a career in international public service related to Southeast Asia.

 

TUYEN THAI THANH PHAM

Tuyền Thái T. Phạm is a rising junior at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, pursuing a B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations. Born in Saigon and raised on Oʻahu, she draws on her family’s immigration experience and Hawaiʻi’s diverse cultural landscape to inform her commitment to expanding equitable access to civic and legal systems. Tuyền has gained public service experience across the local, state, and federal levels through her work with immigration nonprofits, private legal offices, and the Hawaiʻi State Judiciary, and as a congressional intern in Congressman Ed Case’s (HI-01) office. On campus, she co-chairs the Internal Affairs Committee in the Associated Students of the University of Hawaiʻi (ASUH), serves as Vice President of the United Nations Association (UNA-USA), and previously worked as a research assistant at the Indo-Pacific Policy Lab (IPPL). Through the AYDP program, Tuyền aims to strengthen her leadership and global perspective as she pursues a career in immigration law, working to close legal gaps and empower marginalized communities.
