Congressional Council
The US-Asia Institute’s Congressional Council is a distinguished alumni association comprised of former Congressional staff who have participated in US-Asia Institute (USAI) programs over the past 45 years, including confidential Congressional briefings and delegations across the Asia-Pacific region.
Council members serve as valued advisers and ambassadors for USAI, contributing in the following ways:
Advising USAI leadership on strategic programming and organizational initiatives;
Engaging socially and professionally with Congressional Circle members, offering mentorship and guidance and meaningful opportunities to connect with leading experts on Asia-focused policy issues and networking with key stakeholders from government, the private sector, academia, and civil society;
Serving as speakers, moderators, and hosts at USAI events and forums; and
Facilitating introductions to individuals and organizations that align with USAI’s mission and may benefit from collaborative engagement, including helping to grow USAI’s corporate network and funding base.
Through their experience and insight, members of the Congressional Council help strengthen bipartisan dialogue and foster deeper understanding of U.S.–Asia relations.
