On October 13, the US-Asia Institute was pleased to co-host a Capitol Hill Forum with the Asian Development Bank for a discussion on sustainable development via Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
We were honored to have Dr. Yasuyuki Sawada, the Chief Economist of the Asian Development Bank, as our expert on the subject matter. We were also grateful for Wayne Morrison, with the Congressional Research Service, who moderated the conversation. Dr. Sawada illustrated the current economic trends in the Asia-Pacific. Additionally, he offered sophisticated evaluations investing in terms of Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
China’s economic growth is projected to increase by 6.7% in 2017 and 6.4% in 2018. Comparatively, India will grow dramatically; an estimated 7.0% in 2017 and 7.4% in 2018. Regardless of short- terms challenges Public-Private Partnerships(PPP) can serve as an innovative tool to address the requirements set forth by massive infrastructure needs.
