From July 10 to 14, the US-Asia Institute was honored to help host the Better Hong Kong Foundation (BHKF)’s annual visit to the United States. BHKF was founded by influential Hong Kong business and community leaders in 1995 with the goal of building greater international understanding between Hong Kong, China, and Western nations. Every year, a delegation from BHKF visits the US to promote closer ties between the United States and Hong Kong, as well as to inform US leaders of the current situation in East Asia.

This year’s delegation, largely composed of leaders of Hong Kong’s private sector, visited Washington, D.C. and New York City to meet with prominent individuals in government, think tanks, media organizations, universities, and NGOs.
