On the evening of Wednesday, July 19, the US-Asia Institute held a reception to celebrate the successful conclusion of our annual China 101 Briefing Series and to congratulate the Rule of Law students on the end of their program!
The guests of honor included the congressional staff members who attended the China 101 briefings, the six Chinese students who participated in the 10th annual Matthew J. Szymanski Rule of Law program, our Professional Development Fellow Eveleen Wan, and the congressional staff members who have travelled to China with USAI.
Our VP and Executive Director Ms. Mary Sue Bissell gave a warm welcome to everyone, and Mr. Glenn Lau-Kee, our President, presented the opening remarks. Mr. Matthew J. Szymanski introduced the six Rule of Law students, each of whom said a few words of reflection and thanks. Mr. Robert “Bob” Jordan introduced Eveleen Wan, our Professional Development Fellow, and finally, the China 101 Professional Development Certificates were presented.
All in all, it was an evening filled with wonderful people and a fantastic spirit. Thank you to all who attended!
